As every year, the Asturian village remembers the first landing of the future emperor to take possession of the Crown of Castile
Tazones will return to receive the future emperor Charles V. It will be on August 24th and 25th and many activities are planned to enjoy the anniversary.
The chronicles tell that the residents of Tazones were frightened when they saw a large number of ships arriving at their port. In one of them traveled the grandson of the Catholic Kings, the future Charles I of Spain and later V of Germany, who came to Spain to claim the crown that corresponded to him by inheritance.
And as has been usual for years, Tazones returns to the early sixteenth century to remember the first landing of the future Charles V. A full weekend, the August 24th and 25th, full of activities around daily life from the sixteenth century: from the making and sampling of fishing gear, the dyeing of the sails of boats, the auction of fish, the roast of spider crabs and sardines, etc.; acts that will conclude with the recreation of the landing of the future Charles V.
On the 25th the acts will continue in Villaviciosa, through whose streets both the future emperor and his retinue will stroll. Likewise, there will also be dramatized visits to the Casa de los Hevia, where he spent the first time in Hispanic lands.
And so you can open your mouth, here we leave you a video that recalls how it was last year’s edition of the landing of the future Charles V:
In short, a weekend to enjoy and with the story. And you have it very close, in Tazones and Villaviciosa, on August 24th and 25th 😊
