On the weekend of January 31st, February 1st and 2nd, it will take place many activities linked to the figure of Emperor Charles V
Emperor Carlos V prepares to walk through the Cáceres region of La Vera! And to accompany him, you have already prepared a program of activities that includes from the traditional Emperor Route to talks and events both in the villages along that route, and also in Losar de la Vera.
Emperor Carlos V prepares to move to the Monastery of Yuste, and he will do next Saturday, February 1st in the morning, date on which will be celebrated the XXI edition of the Emperor’s Route. A day that, as usual, will be full of events, performances and talks that will take place in the villages that the route crosses —Jarandilla de la Vera, Aldeanueva de la Vera, Cuacos de Yuste—; and it will begin the previous day, Friday 31st, with a series of activities planned in those villages and that you can check here.
Activities, all of them, which are part of the program that accompanies the Emperor’s Route, and also includes the delivery of the second edition of the La Vera Prize. Imperial Retreat In this edition, the recognition falls to the journalist Ana Rosa Quintana.
Malaria Interpretation Center
Parallel to those activities, the Losar de la Vera Malaria Interpretation Center will also offer a guided tour program throughout the weekend. The purpose of these visits is that visitors can learn more about the disease that ended the life of Emperor Charles V.
Also, on Friday 31st, at 17:30, a talk is scheduled in that center, which will take a tour of the diseases suffered by the emperor throughout his life, many of them because of his diet.
