Did you know… Emperor Charles V only needs fifteen minutes to meet Empress Isabel and marry her?

The first date between Charles V and Isabel of Portugal lasted fifteen minutes, and then they married. The appointment took place in Seville, in 1526, where the wedding between the two previously agreed would take place, and without even having met in person.

After arriving from the trip to Seville from Madrid, and without resting, the emperor dismounted in the courtyard of the Alcazar and strode into the room where Isabel was waiting for him.
