This is an association that recreates historical events that took place during the reigns of the Great Habsburgs

The Old Tercio de Cartagena 1595 Association aims to highlight the history of a city like Cartagena, now three thousand years old. It is also linked to great events that took place during the lives of Emperor Charles V and his son, Philip II.

For some weeks now, the Network of Routes of Emperor Charles V has had a partner that stands out both for its historical recreations and for the place that hosts it.

We are talking about Cartagena, a three thousand year old city that boasts many things. One of them, history. Intense. It is the headquarters of the Old Tercio de Cartagena Association, the driving force behind numerous historical recreations; and which is also responsible for an intense work of recovering stories, of events that took place in the city, or related to it in one way or another during the reigns of Emperor Charles V and his son, Philip II.

An association that pays tribute to the honesty, honour, valour, courage and bravery of the Tercios, the Old Spanish Tercios, a world-renowned example of bravery.

These units relied on the pike and the arquebus to brutally crush their enemies and in Cartagena they have their reflection. In fact, the Tercios used very innovative tactics for the time. Their mobility on the battlefield and their ability to adapt to any situation was unparalleled among their rivals and they are still regarded as one of the greatest armies of all time.

The Old Tercio de Cartagena Association pays tribute to them. We are looking forward to seeing their magnificent historical recreations.
